Breaking News

As we run up to the 10/11 festival, you may like to know...

Long Range Forecast
Coastal Otago:
  • Wednesday 30 Cold southwesterlies with occasional showers.
  • Thursday 31 Becoming fine. Southwesterlies.
  • Friday 1 Mainly fine. Northwesterlies developing.
  • Saturday 2 Showers. Southwesterlies.
  • Sunday 3 Fine. Little wind.
Warning: UV 11 - EXTREME. Although temperatures may be cooler than you're used to, be aware that UV levels are very high even in overcast situations. Hats, sunblock, shade. Temperatures for the area are predicted to be in the low twenties and overnight lows down to 10 degrees C. but bear in mind you can add a few degrees to that for the Whare Flat micro-climate. Nights can be fairly cool, especially under clear skies.

10/11 Programme
The festival programme can be perused here, as always, subject to inevitable small changes. As usual there are several concurrent activities but we do our best to anticipate what various interests people have to avoid potential conflicts. Some people say to us "There are too many things on," like it's a bad thing. The comprehensive Children's Programme can be viewed here.

Listen!
Now you can listen to selected recorded tracks of last year's festival guests right here on the festival website. Just click on the one you want to hear or settle back and listen to them all. More tracks being added as they come to hand.

New Venue On Site
One of the great things about having the Waiora Scout Camp as our festival site is that from year to year there are constant improvements and upgrades. Over the last few years there has been an extra toilet block commissioned, road lighting installed, a barbeque area built and several hazards mitigated (the latest being rails on the side of the bridge over the river). This year, there is a new building for our use (which the Scouts call a "breakout room") which is perfect for sessions and workshops or just sitting on the deck and taking in the sun. You'll see it at the turnoff to the cabins and family camping area.
