Folk for Kids 2009/10
The Whare Flat Folk Festival is a family festival in the true sense. Over many years, many families have met up here annually and formed lasting friendships - especially children. Children are never excluded from mainstream festival activities but are additionally catered for in a series of events and workshops of their own, from pre-school music and dance to instrument-making and playing for older kids. All kids' activities are folk-related: there are no bouncy castles or video games.
In addition to the scheduled activities below, there’s also a tots ‘n’ toddlers corner set up in the troop den (parents to supervise and organise their own roster). There’s a swimming hole for the hardy and hot-blooded, random face-painting, and sports equipment available over the weekend. To make your families time safe & happy, PLEASE remember:
- Sunblock, water-bottles and hats,
- If your child has a bike, bike helmets and keep off the “main” roads,
- DO supervise your own little angels - and intervene if you see inappropriate use of equipment or extreme behaviour by anyone else.
- Have a great weekend!
