There's no better place to welcome in the New Year (the very last and the very first folk festival on the planet every year!). Over three days and nights of concerts, dances, workshops, sessions and jams both formal and informal, all in the beautiful bush-clad hills of Dunedin's hinterland where the only other sounds are those of our native songbirds.
Regular festival-goers return year after year to catch up with old friends, make new ones and pass the time playing and listening to music or just relaxing in the idyllic sylvan surroundings. This is a camping festival but day visitors are most welcome too - the festival site is a mere 15 minutes by car from the centre of town.
Check back often to the Breaking News page for festival reviews, updates and developments. Also, the Downloads page has resources and music from some of the workshops of the last festival and the Previous Festivals page has pictures as they come to hand. The New Edinburgh Folk Club website has news and a calendar of ongoing events throughout the year, including the Whitestone Winter Festival in June and the Dunedin Celtic Arts Festival in October.
